Kia K9 sedan introduced to South Korea

The Kia K9 sedan went on sale in South Korea on Wednesday. Kia's first rear-wheel-drive vehicle comes equipped with a V6 and an eight-speed transmission. The K9 also introduces some features for Kia that will trickle down to other models.

Dassault Systèmes and Riversimple partner for eCar Design Contest

Dassault Systèmes, in collaboration with Riversimple and the 40 Fires foundation, launched their eCar Design Contest recently, designed to encourage cooperation and the development of ideas on an open source platform. The companies had been in talks for some time regarding a joint project and this competition – a completely holistic, closed-loop approach to the building, sale and use of a car – is the result of their successful collaboration. Fisker reborn as The New Fisker

The assets of Fisker may now belong to China's auto parts giant Wanxiang, but reports of the brand's demise have been greatly exaggerated. It was earlier believed that along with the technology and the debt that Wanxiang would be taking on, one thing they wouldn't get is the Fisker brand name itself.
