Spyker signs deal with China's Hawtai Motor to raise funds for Saab
Tue, 03 May 2011Saab owner Spyker Cars on Tuesday said it has signed an agreement with China's Hawtai Motor Group to form joint ventures for manufacturing, technology and distribution. The agreement will also provide $222 million (150 million euros) funding for Saab, which has been forced to halt production because it cannot pay suppliers' bills. Victor Muller, Spyker CEO and Saab chairman, said the partnership will allow Saab to enter the Chinese car market with a strong Chinese manufacturer.
Toyota Prius points the way to design future

The third generation, debuting Monday in Japan, stays true to the line's role as a vanguard of futuristic styling and sports many new elements that will be popping up soon in other models. Chief among these are the sharply creased corners, the forward placement of the Toyota badge, a lowered grille and styling that Toyota's global design chief Wahei Hirai calls "free-form geometrics." The goal was to create an avant-garde, high-tech look that also screams green.
Drivers 'want more traffic police'
Wed, 25 Jun 201460% OF MOTORISTS believe there are not enough police officers on the road to enforce driving laws, according to an RAC survey. More than half (51%) of drivers think it is unlikely that motorists will ever get picked up for texting while stopped in traffic. And 40% reckon they stand little chance of being stopped by police for aggressive driving, the poll of 1,526 drivers found.
