Lexus gets new focus
Wed, 09 Mar 2011Battered by recalls and public inquisitions, Toyota is hoping to restore its once-pristine image with new hybrid products and a renewed focus on Lexus. Lexus increasingly will be positioned as a “global premium brand,” the company said on Wednesday, and see improved styling, more hybrids and better service. The brand's sales have fallen 9 percent this year, to 26,674 in the United States.
Lexus LF-A – Interior detail +video
Wed, 25 Nov 2009Video walkthrough of the Lexus LF-A interior below The Lexus LF-A – the new Lexus Supercar – has had a fair bit of coverage of late here on Cars UK. We then had the reveal of the LF-A at the Tokyo Motor Show in October, when it was revealed that the LF-A will cost upwards of £300k and just 500 will be built.
New Ford Mondeo to get new 1.5 litre EcoBoost engine
Fri, 12 Apr 2013The new EcoBoost engine will also be turning up in the Ford Fusion for North America, but the UK and Europe are going to have to wait until at least the end of 2014 – when we get the new Mondeo - before the new engine is on offer. The 1.5 litre EcoBoost offers improved economy and emissions compared to the 1.6 litre currently available - with similar power, performance and torque compared – but one of the main reasons for offering it is that many countries offer tax breaks for engines under 1.5 litres. The new engine will be built by Ford In Romania initially (although it will get churned out elsewhere too in due course) and offers turbocharging, direct fuel injection and variable valve timing.
