Le Mans champ: laser lights are the future

Three-time Le Mans 24 Hours race champion Allan McNish has told us that technology first trialled at the world famous endurance event often makes it on to road cars – and this year’s big thing will be laser lights. Speaking ahead of Le Mans 2014, McNish said that racing is more relevant to everyday cars than people think – with features from seat belts to windscreen wipers debuting at the race. 2013 Aston Martin DB9 doubles down with vaunted V12

The 2013 Aston Martin DB9 is getting a power boost thanks to parts and pieces from under the hood of the upcoming Vanquish. The updated DB9 borrows some of the engine architecture and hardware from the Vanquish, enabling output from the 5.9-liter V12 to reach 510 hp and 457 lb-ft of torque. Those are considerable increases compared with today's car, which is rated at 470 hp and 443 lb-ft of torque.

The interior of the 2010 Vauxhall Meriva A couple of weeks ago Vauxhall revealed the details on the new Vauxhall Meriva and sent us a heap of pictures. Probably the biggest stand-out was the carry-over of the suicide doors from the original Meriva Concept (which we do have reservations about) but overall the new Meriva does look a more than half-decent car. But one thing Vauxhall didn’t do was release any pictures of the interior.
