First details of new Volkswagen Golf revealed; GTi planned for Paris

Volkswagen has revealed the first details of its seventh-generation Golf--including a classy new interior--at a heavily cloaked press event ahead of the car's official unveiling in September in Berlin. The Golf, VW's perennial best seller, has raked in worldwide sales of more 29 million cars over 38 years of production. The new model, which is described as being up to 23 percent more economical than its predecessor, is planned to go on sale across Europe in November, replacing today's model, introduced in 2008.

Alfa Romeo MiTo Live launches

Alfa Romeo has launched a limited edition MiTo – the MiTo Live – with a Pioneer App radio and Marmalade ‘Black Box’ Insurance aimed at new drivers. So on the engine front the MiTo Live gets Alfa’s 875cc two-cylinder turbo – a crackingly good little engine – which delivers up a modest, but fun, 85bhp with emissions of 98g/km and the promise of 67.3mpg if you drive like a saint. Honda CR-V concept

This is the first image of the Honda CR-V concept, a vehicle that previews the fourth generation CR-V expected to be revealed at the LA auto show in November. The new CR-V's thinly veiled concept precursor highlights a new front face, sculpted bodysides and kick-up DLO shape that will appear on the production car. Inside, Honda claims the new CR-V will offer an ‘accommodating and spacious interior' with a ‘host of new possibilities'.
