This listing is for a new reproduction Sunbeam Tiger accelerator (gas) pedal stop that we made exactly as the original. Many people don't even know this part exists. The illustration (poor) of it is in the "Tiger Workshop Manual" Section C, pg. 19 along with the description of how to use it to adjust your linkage. I became aware of it when I came upon an ebay listing for the stop. For the first two years of owning my Tiger, I was continually tightening the lever position adjustment bolt on the pedal, as it slipped repeatedly when I stepped too hard on the accelerator. Problem solved, I thought. Try and find one! Most were discarded during carpet changes and other modifications, and the rare times you found one on ebay it was usually rusty with prices going up to $100.

This part is intended to limit gas pedal travel and relieve the tension on the throttle cable. It is constructed of the same material and has the exact same bends and measurements as the original. The rubber bumper stop is custom made as there was nothing available with the same dimensions. We turned the rubber stock and made it match exactly (even though you don't see it once installed). The metal is satin black powder coated so it will not rust and there are stainless steel fasteners provided to mount it.

The first three pictures show the product, and the fourth is a picture of the stop installed in my other Tiger, which I am currently restoring. I covered it with white tape for the picture so it would  show up against the dark blue. There are two 10/32 hex nuts welded by the factory on the transmission tunnel to mount this. You should run a tap in the threads to clean them up if there's nothing installed there, as they will be rusty.     Thanks, Al

Mitsubishi PX-MiEV II: 2nd Gen PX-MiEV Plug-in Hybrid Crossover at Tokyo

Fri, 11 Nov 2011

Mitsubishi PX-MiEV II at Tokyo Motor Show As you’ve no doubt realised over the last year or two, Mitsubishi is trying to change from the maker of very able SUVs and quick saloons in to a fluffy bunny car maker by embracing hybrid and electric technology. Which is why we’re getting a second version of the Mitsubishi PX-MiEV at Tokyo. The original PX-MiEV from Mitsubishi arrived two years ago at the Tokyo Motor Show.

New Toyota FT-1 and FT-1 Vision Gran Turismo Concept revealed

Thu, 14 Aug 2014

The new Toyota FT-1 Concept (pictured) will debut at Pebble Beach At the Detroit Motor Show in January, the impressive Toyota FT-1 Concept was revealed, with the general concensus being that it pointed firmly at a future Toyota Supra. And that thought is reinforced with the arrival of a new FT-1 Concept, ahead of a debut at Pebble Beach – and a ‘virtual’ FT-1 Concept in the guise of the Toyota FT-1 Vision Gran Turismo Concept. The new FT-1 Concept comes complete with a new graphite paint job, but perhaps the more interesting aspect is that the interior now looks more upmarket and more appealing.

BMW M6 Competition revealed

Fri, 04 Sep 2009

The Limited Edition BMW M6 Competition will be at Frankfurt (click image for bigger photo) It doesn’t look like the M6 Competition gets much fiddling with the oily bits, although the suspension is being tweaked and lowered – 10mm at the front and 12mm at the back. The M6 Competition sees a new colour option – Frozen Grey Matt – which does look pretty special on the M6.  The interior gets a ‘limited edition’ makeover, with buyers getting the choice between Merino full leather interior with either black or light grey two-tone contrast stitching. BMW are also throwing in a set of mats with ‘M6 Competition’ stitched in them in case you forget what you bought.
