Sunnen/Tobin Arp PM-1400 Comparator: This is a used comparator that is used to check concentricity of automotive connecting rods. It is in very good condition and works perfectly. It features a V-Block body with an adjustable vertical indicating foot. This foot can be adjusted in and out depending on the cylindrical size to be checked. It also is used to zero the indicating scale before checking for any run-out. The indicating scale runs perpendicular to the V-Block. It is 4 3/8” long and 5/8” wide. It has black numbers and hash marks on a white background. The scale reads + or - .004” in .0001” increments. The two sides of the V-Block body are 1 1/4” apart with an overall width of 2 1/4". Because of the size of the V-Block and the adjustment available, it can handle round stock that is at least 2” long and from 3/8” to 2 1/2" in diameter. This makes this comparator much more universal and useful for other applications. Parts and service are still available for this comparator through Blair Equipment Sales. This precision tool is sold with the Kent’s Tools 30 Day Satisfaction Guarantee.
