The Petersen Museum isn't going belly up
Thu, 18 Jul 2013I hate writing columns like this, the kind where one media outlet calls out another's mistakes. There but for the grace of God go I and all that… But the shrieking and hysteria over the Petersen Museum in Los Angeles going to hell in a handbasket -- that's what the LA Times reported -- is over the top, and it's turned into a fiasco. Recalls and stop-sale orders leave GM cars sidelined at dealers
Thu, 22 May 2014Memorial Day weekend is one of the busiest times of the year for car dealers around the country, but the recent spate of recalls and stop-sale orders for GM vehicles will be putting the brakes on a lot of potential sales. Specifically, Chevrolet, Buick, Cadillac and GMC dealers will be unable to deliver tens of thousands of large SUVs and crossovers, a segment that has seen a lot of demand in recent months because of unavailable parts for recalled cars, Automotive News reports. When it comes to large crossovers, the recall of 1.3 million examples of the GMC Acadia, Buick Enclave, and Chevrolet Traverse vehicles from the 2009-2014 model years is likely to hit dealers hard.
DRIVERS STIILL LOVE THEIR MGS AND ROVERS
Thu, 10 Oct 2013THERE ARE still nearly one million MG and Rover cars on the road, according to a study by the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders. These figures demonstrate the longevity of MG Rover cars and the continued success of parts specialist XPart in keeping these highly regarded vehicles on the road. Some models recorded a decline of just one per cent from 2009 to 2010.
