12" GM Suspension Lift Kit (with Rear Springs) - 1973-1991 1/2 Ton Solid Axle Vehicles 4WD

The 12" lift system consists of Heavy Duty (HD) front leaf springs, durable Poly spring bushings, replacement front U-bolts, front sway bar brackets, a front driveshaft spacer, brake hose relocation brackets, rear brake hose, replacement rear leaf springs with Poly bushings, and a 3" block and u-bolt kit for the rear. For steering correction a 4" raised steering arm, a 4" adjustable drag link, and a 3" raised steering block are also included. The kit is packaged complete with Superlift Superide shocks.

Options include single and dual steering stabilizers, and a 4" rear shackle flip kit.

NOTE: If the vehicle is factory-equipped with auxiliary (dual) front shocks also order quantity two, part number 85150 Superide shocks.

NOTE: 88-91 Suburban models require additional part number 315-88 bushing sleeve kit.

Fitment Note:

1977.5-91 models require clearancing (machining) of the front driveshaft CV cluster to prevent binding. If vehicle has single exhaust, the cross-over pipe requires modification to clear front driveshaft.

Mission: Impossible 4 movie gets green action with BMW electric supercar

BMW is casting a green starlet for its automotive role in Mission: Impossible--Ghost Protocol, slated to hit theaters in mid-December. Behind the wheel, Tom Cruise will probably continue to defy all realities of city driving--but this time he'll at least be sending fewer emissions into the atmosphere. He'll be driving a BMW Vision EfficientDynamics electric supercar, a concept vehicle that the company claims will evolve into the BMW i8 before it hits series production in a few years' time.

Porsche 918 Spyder crashes in Germany

Porsche is in hot water with German authorities following an accident involving a prototype version of the gasoline-electric hybrid-powered 918 Spyder on a public road last month, according to reports in the German media. The accident, which took place between the towns of Bietigheim-Bissingen and Ludwigsburg (close to Porsche's research-and-development center), saw the 875-hp 918 Spyder spin out of control and collide with a guard rail. Parts of the new $845,000 Porsche flagship are said to have broken loose in the collision before being collected by an oncoming car.
