is your source for high quality and high performance performance components and literature!  We are recognized experts in Ford 390, 428 and 427 engines, and have had extensive articles covering our engine buildups in Hot Rod and Popular Hot Rodding magazines.  We've had the competitive entries in the Engine Masters Challenge for the many years in a row.  We know our Ford FE engines!

Why would you make a major purchase from a vendor that tells you they don't know anything about engines and they won't answer phone calls?  Call or email us with ANY questions and we'll be glad to help!  We can be reached at (248) 931-0358.  We are an authorized distributor for SCAT, Probe, Diamond, Holley, Fel-Pro and Blue Thunder and we can readily provide information on numerous options for this kit.  It might take a few tries on the phone - we're always crazy busy - but honest technical information makes it worth the effort.

Product Description

This is our new high performance cylinder head for Ford FE 390, 428 or 427 engines!

Outflows and outpowers any traditional FE wedge head!

A serious upgrade for high powered applications - not just a replacement but a true performance upgrade!

Covered extensively in numerous magazines, this new aluminum cylinder head makes a profound improvement in power and torque for any Ford FE engine.

Our FE cylinder heads are significantly better than what competing suppliers offer.  We use only name brand suppliers - no mystery metal, and only high quality domestic casting and machining.  We have actually built these engines - hundreds of them - and do so every week in our own fully equipped engine shop, and run them on our own dyno to prove and refine the combinations.  We can tell you what works, what fits, what does not, and can prove it with first hand experience.  Many of our proven combinations can be viewed running on YouTube, and can be read about by visiting our FE engine tech forum, where complete write-ups and dyno data are available.

This listing is for a set of bare castings ready for you to finish

Included in these heads are:

Castings poured in a state of the art USA foundry that is well known for cylinder head casting expertise

Machined in the USA on top quality equipment, in a facility reknowned for quality

Thread inserts used on all critical locations

Bronze 11/32 valve guides are installed but not honed - ready to be sized to your chosen valves

Hardened valve seats are installed, compatible with unleaded fuel, and are ready for your valve job.

Intake port opening is similar to 427 medium riser and will work with most popular manifolds - only minimal port matching needed

Intake airflow of +/-290 cfm as cast with a valve job & bowl blend - that's 30-40cfm better than competing heads

As cast port volume of only 180 cc (compared to 170cc for traditional heads) means that these are still very responsive and street oriented

Intake potential of nearly 370 cfm CNC ported (optional)

Exhaust ports are similar in position and size to 428 Cobra Jet.  Normal header gaskets and headers will fit - works well in shock tower Mustangs or Fairlanes, as well as with Cobra side pipes.  Has the 16 bolt exhaust pattern.

Valve positions compatible with most OE or aftermarket pistons

Combustion chamber is 76cc, with a modern heart shape and a relocated spark plug for reduced spark advance and improved fuel tolerance

Revised water jackets to allow the new port and chamber design - you CANNOT modify an old style head to meet these goals

Dyno proven for durability and power.  We ran the same pair of heads in the Amsoil Engine Masters Challenge two years in a row, with plenty of street driving and drag race passes over the summer in between.  The 433 inch engine made as much as 711 horsepower!

Dyno proven to deliver 500-600 horsepower with just a good valve job and bowl blending in pump gas combinations.

2012 Mercedes A-Class revealed in patent filings

Wed, 11 May 2011

The slightly drab 2012 Mercedes A-Class Car makers must hate filing for patents on new cars, because it means trusting images of their new and secret car to a third party. Basic images, admittedly, but the real-deal nonetheless. So Mercedes must be spitting feathers today as the images they sent with their patent applications on the 2012 A-Class leak out of every open window, door and PC and straight on to the interweb.

Peugeot Partner Tepee Outdoor HDi 110 Review & Road Test Part 2 One unexpected bonus of driving a van with windows came at the local branch of Waitrose when I noticed the look I was getting from a fellow shopper as we both unloaded our respective trolley’s contents into our respective boots. While he hurried to empty his shopping trolley in the heavy rain I stayed lovely and dry under the protection of the enormous tailgate as I leisurely unloaded mine. This will never be a particularly cool car but the cool level must rise ever so slightly when other motorists express a sliver of envy, if only for that one small thing.

The birth of car passion: Video

Thu, 22 Dec 2011

There comes a time in a young boy's life when he can either jump into the car world head first or settle back into a life of being carted around by appliances. For some of us it's early, for most of us it's at around age 16. We think this boy will be in the former group.
