The diesel Audi ‘RS’ Q5 – the Audi SQ5 – with 309bhp and 0-62mph in 5.1 seconds, will cost £43,870 when it arrives in the UK in spring 2013. Pricing for the 2013 Volkswagen CC R-Line four-door will start at $33,020—about $2,000 more than the base-level CC Sport. The newly created R-Line trim package adds 18-inch aluminum-alloy wheels; a modified front fascia that features more aggressive styling cues; stainless-steel scuff plates; and R-Line badges to the base-level CC. VW's RNS 315 navigation system also comes standard on R-Line vehicles.

Work is accelerating at Europe's project to let clusters of cars drive together in convoy on motorways - with no input from the driver. The so-called Sartre project today issued a new video showing how its work is developing. Ah, that'll be the Europe-wide Sartre road safety project. It stands for Safe Road Trains for the Environment and is part-funded by the European Commission.
