Lamborghini Countach LP400 breaks $1 million sale barrier

A 1975 Lamborghini Countach LP400 "Periscopica" sold for $1.21 million at the Bonhams auction held in conjunction with the Greenwich Concours d'Elegance on Sunday, June 1, setting a record for the model. Named for the roof-mounted periscope-style rearview mirror that adorned the first 150 Countach models, the stunning "Blu Tahiti" example was the first example of the Countach to break the $1 million mark. Mini at the Salone del Mobile, Milan

Mini is using this year's Salone del Mobile in Milan to showcase its 'flair for design.' As with previous years, Mini will be using sites at Milan's Università degli Studi and the Triennale Design Museum for its installations that highlight the brand's 'Creative Use of Space' philosophy. The running theme between the two works is the progression of the brand, from its roots, through to the future of mobility. The Università degli Studi instillation is entitled 'Mini Sintesi' and was initiated by Italian design magazine INTERNI under the watchful eye of Gilda Bojardi.

2011 Volkswagen Jetta Revealed!

A larger, more upscale version of the Volkswagen Jetta was revealed on Monday for the 2011 model year. It will start nicely loaded at about $16,000 when it arrives in October. The powertrain lineup will consist of four engines, including a 2.0-liter turbodiesel making 236 lb-ft of torque.
