What is a tire warmer?
A tire warmer is an electric heating blanket designed to get your tires to mid race temperatures (when you have the most grip and confidence) before your race begins.

Why do I need tire warmers?
No one should underestimate the dangers of cold tire crashes, the costs of tires, or the lack of grip on the first cold lap. Tire warmers aid in all three of these. They provide the extra needed heat needed to grip on the first few laps while your tires get up to temp. They provide extra rider confidence as well as helping avoid costly and dangerous crashes. Tire warmers also help save money on testing time, and reduce tire tearing.

How hot do Suzuka tire warmers get? Suzuka tire warmers reach around 170 degrees, an average of top tire manufacturers recommended temperatures.

How do Suzuka tire warmers work?
Standard plugs fit any outlet and one set of two draws about 1000 watts. Evenly spaced wires drive heat into the tire and rim which is spread and retained by a high quality insulation.

Ford Fiesta ECOnetic: On the Drive

Thu, 28 May 2009

We test the new Ford Fiesta ECOnetic to see if it's as 'Green' as it seems But how good would it actually be to live with? We all know that headline fuel consumptions can be misleading, but was this new ‘Eco’ Fiesta really all that economical? We’d had numerous emails and comments after that first drive, all saying basically the same thing: Yes, it headlines at 76mpg, but what will it do in the real world?

Citroen C3 1.4VTi Review & Road Test (2010) Part 2

Fri, 25 Jun 2010

Part 2 of our Citroen C3 Review The 1.4 VTi is not necessarily the best engine for the C3, but it is nice for a change to have a petrol engine in a small car. You get used to the almost on/off nature of driving a small, turbo diesel that it’s rather nice to get a petrol engine with more linear power and a more fluid note for a change. But 95bhp is not quite enough for really flying along – even in a compact-sized car – but it’s enough to propel the C3 around town quite adequately.
