Car buying, minus the dealership

Fri, 18 Jan 2013

“Test drives delivered” is the motto of Tred, a Seattle-based startup that's taking the car dealership out of the car-buying process -- at least from the shopper's perspective. Each car is then delivered by a Tred staffer rather than a dealership salesperson.

Chevrolet has let slip some of the details on the 2012 Camaro. Highlights for the sports car include a few more horsepower from the V6, a new suspension package for the SS and a 45th anniversary special edition Camaro that will go on sale to celebrate the pony car's entrance into old age. The direct-injection V6, which sees duty in everything from the Cadillac CTS to the Malibu and a few crossovers, will deliver 323 hp in this application.

Lincoln shows restored 1934 Edsel Ford Speedster at Pebble Beach

Sat, 20 Aug 2011

Lincoln unveiled Edsel Ford's restored 1934 Model 40 Special Speedster on Friday during a ceremony on the lawn at Pebble Beach. The one-off car, lost for more than 40 years, was acquired by the Edsel and Eleanor Ford House in 2009 and treated to a complete restoration. According to the company, Edsel Ford originally commissioned the Speedster after visiting Europe and growing enamored of the small sports cars on the continent.
