Hungarian GP qualifying: Rosberg on pole for Mercedes – Hamilton out of qualifying after car fire
Sat, 26 Jul 2014Hungarian GP qualifying: Rosberg (pictured) on pole for Mercedes Lewis Hamilton seems to have had most of the unreliability problems that have hit Mercedes this year, but a fire in his car before he even set a time in qualifying for the 2014 Hungarian Grand Prix today in Budapest was a cruel blow to his title chances. Hamilton managed to limp his stricken car in to the pits as flames licked round the back after what appears to have been a fuel leak, but that means Hamilton will start from the back of the grid tomorrow, making it incredibly difficult to get even close to Rosberg who finished qualifying on pole. Behind Rosberg, Sebastian Vettel managed to put the Red Bull in second, with Williams’ Botas in third during a final qualifying that saw rain drench the first corner, nearly claiming Rosberg and sending McLaren’s Magnussen in to the tyre barrier and out of Q3.
2014 Geneva Motor Show preview
Mon, 17 Feb 2014The 2014 Geneva Motor Show opens its doors on 4 March and it will be a showcase for all that the world’s car makers have to offer. Some major new cars will make their public debut at the show, including the Audi TT, BMW 2 Series Active Tourer, Ferrari California and Renault Twingo, all of which will be on sale by the end of 2014. There’ll be plenty of concept cars on display, too: some will be outlandish visions of the future, but others – including the Skoda Vision C – will hint at production models that will be on sale soon.
VW Scirocco and eco models
Tue, 04 Mar 2008By James Foxall Motor Shows 04 March 2008 16:05 So what's new on Volkswagen's Geneva Motor Show stand? By far the most exciting offering from VW was the production version of the new Scirocco. The good news is the firm has managed to combine the aggressive deep front air dams and skinny grille first shown on the car's concept with a healthy dose of the original Giugiaro penned model.
