Infiniti prices the 2012 QX and EX

Infiniti is sticking with 2011-model-year prices for the 2012 QX luxury SUV, hoping to maintain a positive sales response since last year's redesign. Meanwhile, the 2012 Infiniti EX crossover models will have higher stickers across the board, with sporty rear-wheel-drive models starting at about $1,000 more for 2012. Mitsubishi Evo X to get awesome double-clutch gearbox

The supersaloon is set for launch in a year, which should make Mitsubishi the first manufacturer to respond to VW's pioneering transmission. BMW and Porsche are among the car makers who are also working on rival gearboxes.

General Motors combines smartphone functions with the Chevrolet Volt

General Motors is bringing together two of the hottest areas of technology--smartphones and plug-in electric cars. GM's OnStar telematics unit has developed a downloadable application that will let Chevrolet Volt drivers use a Blackberry Storm, Apple iPhone or Motorola Droid to remotely control and monitor some vehicle functions, such as charging. The Volt is slated to go into production late this year and arrive in California utility company fleets by early 2011.
