The vice chairman of global product development – who has been at the centre of the automotive industry for the last 46 years – will be replaced by Tom Stephens, GM’s current veepee for global powertrain and global quality. Lutz, 76, will continue to report to GM boss Rick Wagoner throughout 2009 in his new role as GM vice chairman and senior advisor, before bowing out at the end of December.
VW Cross Polo (2010) Revealed

The Cross Polo (we’d expected it to be the ‘CrossPolo’ as the Germans like to run words together, like ‘BlueEfficiency’ or EfficientDynamics, but the graphics on the Polo make it clear it’s the ‘Cross Polo’) is the latest version of the 2010 Polo to be revealed. Just this week we’ve had the 2010 Polo GTI and the 2010 VW Polo BlueMotion (see – it’s those joined together names again) and the Cross Polo makes the hat trick for pre-Geneva.
Cadillac Elmiraj concept (2013)
Fri, 16 Aug 2013Cadillac has revealed its Elmiraj grand coupé concept, which showcases its plans for its next-generation flagship sports models. The four-seater concept – which measures in at 5,207mm long, 1,930mm wide and 1,397mm high – was designed at General Motors' advanced design studio in North Hollywood, California, under the direction of Frank Saucedo and is an evolution of last year's Cien concept. Mark Adams, Cadillac design director, says, "Elmiraj advances Cadillac's provocative modern design and performance, contrasted with bespoke craftsmanship and luxury.
