VW Polo GTI (2010): first news and photos
Wed, 17 Feb 2010Volkswagen has just issued these first photos of the new 2010 Polo GTI. It uses the 1.4-litre TSI engine with turbo- and supercharging to liberate a stocky 178bhp – enough to make the Polo GTI into a proper little pocket rocket.The first hot Polo was the supercharged G40 of 1986, but that developed a relatively weedy 112bhp. The new 2010-spec Volkswagen Polo GTI is powerful enough to hit 62mph in 6.9sec and reach a 142mph V-max.
Gordon Murray’s MOTIV.e debuts in Tokyo

The MOTIV is a hot take on a city car in the vein of the Smart ForTwo and Aston Martin Cygnet. Multiple versions of the MOTIV could be produced, with both electric and gas power.
New Car Sales Accelerating Ahead
Fri, 06 Dec 2013IT’S GOOD news in the new car market as the latest figures from industry body the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT) reveal registrations already outstripping those of 2012 with one month of the year still to go. A total of 159,581 new cars were registered in November - a 7% rise on the figure for November 2012. Last month's figures took the year-so-far total to 2,111,819 - a 9.9% rise on the January-November 2012 total and already in excess of the year-end 2012 figure of 2.04 million.
