Description

I have several of these Vintage Steering Wheel Adapters available, all still in the original boxes and ready for your next car, hot rod or boating project.

SWM - AUDI Steering Wheel Hub Adapter Kit # 144 for Dino, Raid, Tazio and all steering wheels with 74mm bolt pattern.

This Hub Adapter Kit is for when you are replacing your factory steering wheel. It is made in Italy with lightweight high quality aluminum and rubber.   Box is worn from years of being stored away, but it did it's job. I have removed any original shrink-wrap to inspect the piece- see photos.

  • Dino Steering Wheel Hub / Adapter / Boss Kit
  • For: AUDI (no info on specific model or if multi-fit. Please take measurements, see photos and feel free to ask questions)
  • Part #: 144
  • Horn Cap/Button: Included - Audi Logo - Black, Silver & White
  • Screws: Set of 6
  • Screw Wrench: None
  • Total Height: Approx. 4.25"
  • Splines: Approx: 40 - they are so tiny and hard to count ;-)
  • Fits: 6 Lug Wheels - Dino, Raid, Tazio, Luisi, and many others AND 5 Lug Wheels with included extra adapter
  • Center Hole Diameter: Approx. 2 3/16"
  • Back Diameters: Approx. 3 3/4" and 1 9/16" and 7/8" opening
  • Distance from center of screw hole to center of screw hole: 1.5"

  • Additional: Many times with the vintage hubs, even though they are new in the box, the logo on the caps may pop off as the glues have deteriorated over the years. A small dab of hot glue remedies that quickly.

**PLEASE DO YOUR RESEARCH AND TAKE MEASUREMENTS**

*** Please Note - Cataloging for these early hubs is VERY limited, sometimes contradictory, and we are providing you with the best information I have available.  PLEASE take your measurements and PLEASE inspect our photos to assure the best fit as we do not take returns.  These hubs were stocked in our warehouse for many years.  All hubs, unless otherwise stated, are New/Never Used or Mounted, but may have small scratches or marks from years of storage.  We have taken all of this into consideration and are can now offer you some GREAT deals, so please don't miss out!

Some Quick FAQ's:

Q: Does any hub adapter work for any steering wheel? If not, how do you know what hub adapter you need to make any given steering wheel fit?

A: Different aftermarket steering wheels use different mounting bolt patterns, so you have to get a hub that has a bolt pattern that accord with the steering wheel you want to use. MOMO and Sparco steering wheels, for example, use a six bolt mounting pattern. MOMO and Sparco hubs have 12 holes that are spaced correctly to mount to a six bolt mounting pattern. Grant, on the other hand for example, uses a five bolt mounting pattern. Make sure the hub and your steering wheel are compatible before purchasing. If there is a hub available for your vehicle, then an aftermarket steering wheel can be used with the same bolt pattern. If you're unlucky and your vehicle doesn't have a car-specific hub adapter then universal ones can be purchased.

Q: What is a hub adapter? Why buy a hub adapter?

A: Hub adapters are needed when installing aftermarket steering wheels. You cannot install an aftermarket steering wheel without buying a hub adapter. Hubs are also used to space the steering wheel closer to the driver in some cases.

Puzzling Parking Signs 'Confuse' Motorists

Fri, 27 Jun 2014

A NEW survey has revealed that parking signs confuse motorists, to the point that it can lead to drivers being penalised for their unintended transgressions. The poll, conducted by car insurance company Churchill, found that of those fined, clamped or who had their vehicle towed away in the last two years, 22% said they were unable to understand the parking restrictions in that area. Also, 41% of the 2,001 people polled said parking signs in their area were confusing, while 33% avoided parking in their local town or city centre for this very reason In addition, the puzzling signs led to 9% avoiding parking around their own residential area.

Lamborgini Jota (or nota Jota) Tease 5. Or Tease 6

Tue, 28 Sep 2010

Jota Tease 6 Well, isn’t it getting exciting? You might consider – as we probably wrongly did – that the tease for Lamborghni’s Paris surprise started back in June when Lamborghini sent us a photo which said ‘Coming Soon…’ across a photo of a bonnet in shadow with the Lamborghini badge in light. Or you could consider that the more recent batch of tease photos started with what we called the Jota tease 2 earlier this month.

M25 Driver Clocked Doing 149MPH

Wed, 28 May 2014

THE IAM has, with the aid of the Freedom of Information Act, done some digging to find out the scale of speeding in the UK. During the course of its research, it found that the top offender was a motorist clocked at 149mph on the M25. The offence, near Swanley in Kent, was captured by a speed camera and was the highest recorded speed during the period April 2013 to May 2014.
