Mazda will be displaying the latest variant of the Biante minivan series at the 42nd Tokyo motor show. Called the Granz, the vehivle a specially designed ‘high-roof' version of the mid-sized MPV – measuring in at just over 1800mm in height. Visually, the Granz takes stylistic influence from the Kodo design language – in particular, the ‘signature wing' on the front fascia.

Nissan will produce the Nissan LEAF EV in the UK from 2013 Carlos Ghosn – head of Nissan – is convinced that electric cars will account for 10% of the market by 2020. Which is a huge leap from where they are now. We’re not convinced he’s right, although if you include what by then should be viable hydrogen fuel cell cars then he may be getting close.

Went surfing, 33 miles away. 33 plus 33 is 66. Should have been within the range limits of the car but I used up nine kWhs on the first leg of mostly freeway driving, which suggests I wouldn't make it home.
