Alfa Romeo 4C arrives stateside in New York

Thu, 17 Apr 2014

Not long after the last transport departed New York Harbor with a cargo of unsold 164s, an Alfa Romeo executive was probably quoted as saying, "we will return next year!" We have been eagerly anticipating the return of Alfa Romeo for the last 19 years, long enough for the last Milano to rust whence it came, every year the brand just another year away! Well, this year -- yes, this year, finally, no really -- the Alfa Romeo 4C heralds the brand's reintroduction to America -- just as it did last year, remember -- as early as this summer. You'll have to forgive us for such skepticism -- we've been burned by our desire to invoke Italian driving passion and all that, but it's also hurting the Fiat dealers who scrape by on a lack of product.

New Renault Clio arrives

Tue, 03 Jul 2012

The new Renault Clio has been revealed ahead of a debut at the Paris Motor Show with a new look and five doors. Although it’s still based on the underpinnings of the current Clio, the new Renault Clio is a lot more than a facelift of the current car. For a start, it comes as a five door only, with the back door handles hidden so it looks like a three door, and gets a bold new style that’s been influenced by the Renault DeZir Concept with a new corporate nose featuring a big front grill and Renault badge and big, swoopy crease lines down the doors.

Mugen Honda CR-Z Hybrid Video ahead of Goodwood

Mon, 13 Jun 2011

Mugen Honda CR-Z Hybrid playing on video We reported back in April that Honda had turned to Mugen to see if they could inject anything in to the CR-Z Hybrid that might make it even remotely appealing to a driver. The plan was to take the resulting Mugen Honda CR-Z to this year’s Goodwood Festival of Speed, to see if the knowledgeable petrolheads that gravitate to the Goodwood Estate like moths to a Summer flame could find something to love in the Honda CR-Z, once it had had some Mugen fairy dust springled on it. We were a bit reluctant to expect anything much of the CR-Z even after Mugen had played, but we were pleasantly surprised to learn that the CR-Z would get a wider track, new suspension and brakes and a drop in weight thanks to some carbon fibre in the mix – most notably the carbon fibre bonnet.
