AW Design Forum: Ralph Gilles talks technology - with style

Chrysler Group is known for its rough and tough trucks and menacing muscle cars, but its design boss said technology is going to be the game-changer for car designers going forward. Ralph Gilles, who is also CEO of the Dodge brand, said cars must be able to adapt to evolving technologies while remaining striking and pleasing to the eye. Smartphones, touch screens and colorful interfaces are all becoming common inside cars.

Peugeot HR1 concept

Alongside the new 508, Peugeot unveiled a B-segment SUV concept called the HR1 in Paris. The new car builds on the new design identity established by the SR1 concept, but also features elements of the diminutive BB1 concept revealed at the 2009 Frankfurt motor show. Flying A Garage makes a hard landing

It was one of the greatest rod, custom, drag-racing and classic-car collections ever assembled and it soon will make one of the greatest auctions. America's Car Collection, housed at the Flying A Garage in Winnemucca, Nev., had cars by Ed Roth, the Alexander Brothers and Harry Bradley, along with memorabilia from Von Dutch and Roth. There even is a Mickey Thompson mini bike, fer goodness sake.
