The Marauder lays waste a wall We knew the Hamster was off to South Africa to play with a vehicle that made the Hummer look like a Tonka Toy. And we knew – because they ‘hinted’ at it when we spoke to them last week – that the whole Top Gear segment had more than a little to do with the Paramount Group in South Africa, purveyors of innovative armoured vehicles. So, as suspected, we were treated to Richard conquering the Urban Jungle of Johannesburg in the Paramount Marauder, an aptly-named, go anywhere, seemingly indestructible piece of military hardware made street-legal.

JAGUAR will have a major presence at the sell-out 2014 Goodwood Revival, with the Lightweight E-type making its European debut at the event, while the firm’s new F-Type Project 7 will be on show in the Earls Court Motor Show-themed exhibition. The 60th anniversary of the legendary D-type will be marked in style at Goodwood. On Saturday 12 September, the Lavant Cup race will be dedicated to the D-type with more than 20 examples of this legendary competition car competing in the first-ever motor race devoted entirely to the D-type.

General Motors to invest more than $850 million to build new V8s

General Motors Co. said Tuesday it will invest more than $850 million to upgrade five North American factories to make its next-generation V8 engines more fuel efficient. The new V8s will differ from the current versions by using direct injection and a new combustion system, spokeswoman Sharon Basel said.
