Saab owner and Chinese investors continue talks regarding takeover deal
Tue, 15 Nov 2011Talks between Saab's owner Swedish Automobile and two Chinese investors on a takeover deal to rescue the ailing carmaker will continue even though a memorandum of understanding signed by the parties only runs until Tuesday, Saab said. "They (the parties) are still in discussions about the structure of the deal going forward and they are continuing their cooperation as if the memorandum of understanding continues," Gunilla Gustavs, a Saab spokeswoman, told Automotive News Europe. Wed, 17 Jun 2009Audi has revealed a teaser image and sketch of the forthcoming A5 Sportback, which is scheduled to make its debut at the Frankfurt motor show in September. Though the core design of the production car is similar to the Sportback show car unveiled at the NAIAS in Detroit at the start of this year, it will be smaller in size. Coined a 'five-door coupe' by the Ignolstadt-based automaker, the Sportback features a spoiler lip and a diffuser insert integrated into its elongated rear end.
London's GPS-based speed-limit trial puts Big Brother's foot on the gas pedal
Wed, 08 Jul 2009A fleet of 12 Toyota Priuses in London have been fitted with GPS-linked speed limiters to measure how drivers respond to having their speed controlled by a computer rather than their own feet. For now, the trial is local to London, run by Transport for London, the agency that manages the city's roads, buses, subways and trains. The agency is using its own fleet of Priuses for the test and will add a bus and a taxi later this year.
