Up for auction is a USED Ford Taurus 3.8 2 Speed Electric Fan Assembly and Volvo 2 Speed fan controller kit.  Why buy these things piece meal, when you can get all the major required pieces for your cooling fan upgrade?  Included in the auction is a 3.8 Taurus 2 Speed electric fan, and a Volvo 2 Speed fan Controller with wiring pigtail.  Check out the links below for the complete instructions on how to use these parts in a circuit.  Buy a temperature switch of your choice and some wire and you should have all the hardware you need to install this upgrade.

TAURUS 3.8 FAN

The fan was removed from a 1995 Taurus, which was equipped with a 3.8 liter V6, and is a popular upgrade for many applications. IT DOES HAVE TWO SMALL DEFECTS, SHOWN IN PICTURE 5 & 6.  THE FIRST IS A CHIPPED PIECE OF THE FAN HOUSING, THE OTHER IS A CHIPPED PIECE IN THE MOUTING TAB.  NEITHER OF THESE EFFECT THE PERFORMANCE OR OPERATION OF THIS FAN.  BUT I WANTED TO MENTION IT.  It has the same fan motor (8C607) as the Mark Viii fan, and has 2 speeds, low and hi.  There has been claims online that this fan pulls near or over 3500 cfm's of air. The fan assembly measures approx. 21" wide x 17" high x 5." deep, and the fan itself is a 16". The assembly may need to be modified for your application.  I have tested the fan and it works great. I can gaurantee both speeds to work when you receive it.

THIS FAN FEATURES THREE WIRES.  Black = Ground, Brown/Orange = Low Speed, Blue = High Speed.

VOLVO 2 SPEED FAN CONTROLLER

Volvo OEM part number on this is 9442934.  Use this to control your 2 speed Lincoln Mark Viii/Thunderbird, Taurus, or any other 2 speed fan.  This relay will switch the fan on low when needed, then disable low when the fan needs to be switched to high (this does require a temp switch and a custom wiring circuit).  A sample wiring diagram is shown in picture #7 to give you an idea.  You could use this diagram, but there are many variations and set ups that can be done. Included in this auction is the controller, a mounting bracket, and about 8"-10" of the OEM Volvo factory wiring for a clean factory looking installation.  Controller measures approx 3" wide, by 3" high (not including the mounting bracket), and about 1.75" deep.

For information on using this relay, wiring, other parts needed, check out these links:

What you see in the picture is what you get!  Please read all the information and look at all the pictures before you place your bid.

BMW M3 M Performance Edition & M5 M Performance Edition for UK

Wed, 09 May 2012

BMW M5 M Performance Edition BMW is teasing two new performance cars with short videos – the BMW M3 M Performance Edition and the M5 M Performance Edition. It seems today is the day car makers stopped sending press releases. First we had Aston Martin not bothering to send out any information on the DBS Ultimate Edition before revealing it on their site, and now BMW are playing the same game.

Fiat gets naughty, supposedly, with the 500 Cattiva special editions

Monterey car week is the perfect time for automakers to launch new concepts and debut special edition vehicles. But it's usually the big names in the luxury/performance world -- the heavy hitters, if you will -- that show up and show off. Cadillac unveiled the Ciel concept a few years back, BMW featured a Zagato roadster in 2012 and the Porsche 918 concept used Pebble as a stage for its first North American appearance.
