Up for auction I have a used electric fan from a Ford Taurus with a 3.8 Motor. This is a very high powered fan rated at about 5000cfm that many people use to upgrade their current engine driven fan to free up horsepower. I have on of these installed on my 1989 S10 Blazer and it always keeps things cool even on the hottest of days. One thing I learned from installing this fan was that it has high current requirements and I needed to upgrade my alternator to compensate for this. You may or may not have to do the same depending on your alternator's current output. I will include a basic wiring diagram with this fan to show you how to wire it the way I did. This fan comes gently cleaned so that you will not have a greasy hand after pulling it out of the box and also comes with the stock plug removed from the  Taurus it was in. This is a 2 speed fan, and was tested on both speeds with no problems. Any questions please feel free to ask. This fan measures 23.5" long X 18" high X 5.5" thick. You can get an even thinner fit by trimming the shroud down, I was able to get mine down to about 3.5" to fit in my S10. Thank you for your interest and good luck!

Grab the sunscreen for those summer drives

You can get sunburned while driving a convertible, but driving with the top up can also result in sun damage to the skin. New research from the University of Washington suggests that people in the United States are more likely to develop skin cancer, such as melanoma and merkel-cell carcinoma, on the left side of their bodies, likely as a result of the fact that the left arm receives more ultraviolet rays while driving. Studies by the Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology show that, when skin cancer shows up on one side of the body, 52 percent of melanoma cases and 53 percent of merkel-cell carcinomas occur on the left.

GM won't show new cars in LA

Thu, 13 Nov 2008

GM has delayed the unveiling of two new cars the company had intended to show the press and public at the forthcoming Los Angeles auto show. The largest US automaker will now show the production versions of the Buick LaCrosse and Cadillac CTS coupe at the Detroit auto show in January instead. "We believe we can better capitalize in Detroit" said spokesman Scott Fosgard.
