High Compression/ Boosting Turbocharger:
The objective of a turbocharger is to improve the engine's volumetric efficiency by solving the amount of air flow into the combustion chamber limitation. This ultimately results in an increased torque and output of the engine. A naturally aspirated automobile engine uses only the downward stroke of a piston to create an area of low pressure in order to draw air into the cylinder through the intake valves. The pressure in the atmosphere is about 1 atm (approximately 14.7 PSI),so there ultimately will be a limit to the pressure difference across the intake valves. This will also limit the amount of airflow entering the combustion chamber. Since the turbocharger increases the pressure at the point where air is entering the cylinder, a greater mass of air (oxygen) will be forced in as the inlet manifold pressure increases. The additional air/oxygen flow makes it possible to maintain the combustion chamber pressure and fuel/air load even at high engine revolution speeds, increasing the power and torque output of the engine. 30psi Turbo Boost Controller: A manual boost controller is a simple mechanical and pneumatic control to allow some pressure from the wastegate actuator to escape or bleed out to the atmosphere or back into the intake system. This can be as simple as a T-fitting on the boost control line near the actuator with a small bleeder screw. The screw can be turned out to varying degrees to allow air to bleed out of the system, relieving pressure on the wastegate actuator, thus increasing boost levels. Mazda3 & Mazda5 Venture Edition launched
Mon, 13 Aug 2012Mazda has launched the Mazda3 Venture and the Mazda5 Venture Edition in the UK, with sporty styling and extra equipment. So far this year we’ve had the Mazda6 Venture Edition and the Mazda MX-5 Venture Edition to push buyers in to Mazda Showrooms, and now we get two more – the Mazda3 Venture Edition and the Mazda5 Venture Edition to add to the temptations. Both versions of the Venture Edition are based on Mazda’s TS2 specification with a bit of added sportiness thrown in for more showroom appeal, with a spoiler at the back, side skirts, a sports grill, privacy glass and Fogs.
New car sales September 2014 best in ten years. But…
Mon, 06 Oct 2014The Ford Fiesta was again the best-selling car – September 2014 We’ve got used to new car sales / registration reusing month after month, and September 2014 is no different. The Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT) is reporting new registration for the important plate change month of September at 425,681 units, the strongest September performance since 2004 and the 31st month in a row new car sales have increased. But the SMMT do say that although September’s figures show yet another increase, it only represents a rise of 5.6 per cent compared to the March plate change registrations rise of 18 per cent, an indication that the new car marekt is starting to level off after nearly three years of growth.
