It also served up some quality crumpet (more of which later)… So what’s new on Mini’s London motor show stand?The ultimate Mini – the John Cooper Works version – went on sale on press day of the London motor show, offering 208bhp, 0-62mph in 6.5 seconds, a 148 mph top speed and a cool body kit. Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse world speed record: Video

We hoped that tease might be for something really interesting and new – perhaps the much rumoured 1600bhp Veyron or even the Galibier –  but it was simply a new world record for an open-topped production car. Impressive, of course, but just more of what we expect from Bugatti, rather than something new and innovative. The new world record for the Vitesse was set at the VW facility at Ehra-Lessien where Chinese driver Anthony Liu took the Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse to 254mph, creating a new world record for an open-topped production car and, more importantly for Bugatti, an excuse to produce a limited run of the Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse WRC Edition with a black and orange paint job for €1.99 million each.

Honda Civic Tourer shown ahead of Frankfurt motor show reveal

Honda has shown its new Civic Tourer just ahead of its reveal at the Frankfurt motor show in September. Designed by Honda's European design studios, the Civic Tourer is expected to go on sale in Europe in early 2014. The Civic Tourer will be available with either the Earth Dreams 1.6 i-DTEC diesel engine or the 1.8 i-VTEC gas engine when arrives, along with a manual or automatic transmission.
