Sat, 04 Aug 2012The new Range Rover Sport - expected to arrive in 2013 as a 2014 model – has been spied out testing ahead of a probable reveal at Geneva 2013. The 2013 Range Rover is almost upon us (it will officially arrive at the Paris Motor Show next month and we should have a reveal before), but what of its lively sibling, the Range Rover Sport? The Range Rover Sport is expected to arrive at Geneva 2013 and go on sale towards the end of 2013 – as a 2014 model – and it will be a very different animal to the current Range Rover Sport.
EV maker Coda trims staff
Wed, 12 Dec 2012Not much more could go wrong for electric-car maker Coda, which has struggled to sell its four-door EV in the United States since officially launching it here in March. But Web reports, first seen at www.plugincars.com, say the company laid off 50 employees, or 15 percent of its workforce, last week, mostly in the sales and marketing departments. Efforts by Autoweek to contact Coda have not been successful.
Former Ford exec Theodore shows off lighter chassis at SAE
Mon, 11 Apr 2011Automakers are facing tougher government regulations for fuel economy, and one former Ford and Chrysler executive says he has a solution Chris Theodore, best known for his work on the Ford GT and Dodge Viper, has designed a vehicle chassis that he says will provide automakers with weight savings, cut manufacturing costs and make electric vehicles more economically viable. Theodore is showcasing his proof-of-concept Uni-Chassis at the SAE World Congress this week. It uses the powertrain and suspension of the GT, under an agreement with Ford.
