We've heard a lot about Datsun in the past few months. The defunct-but-returning brand was part of the inspiration for the Nissan IDx concepts seen at the Detroit auto show, but Nissan has been talking about selling cars under the Datsun brand in developing markets like India, Russia and Indonesia since last July. The company released a concept sketch on Wednesday of a small people carrier, set to debut at the Delhi Auto Expo in February.

Toyotas to get BMW diesel engines in Europe It has been announced that BMW are to supply Toyota with 1.6 and 2.0 litre diesel engines for Toyota cars in Europe from 2014. Last week we revealed that BMW and Toyota were discussing swapping engines and hybrid technology in an effort to cut costs and improve products. Peugeot Design Contest 2008

Carlos Arturo Torres Tovar from Colombia was last week announced as the winner of the 5th annual Peugeot Design Contest at the 2008 Mondial de l'Automobile in Paris. The 25 year old designer's winning 'RD' concept was chosen via an online internet poll and a competition jury headed by Peugeot's Managing Director, Jean Philippe Collin. This year's contest asked designers to "Imagine the Peugeot in the worldwide megalopolis of tomorrow" and to then design a car that could evolve with the cities of the future, while retaining the key values of the 21st century.
