Saab (NEVS) loses right to use Saab name – NEVS gets creditor protectionMon, 01 Sep 2014Saab (NEVS) loses right to use Saab name – NEVS gets creditor protection Just a few weeks ago we reported that Saab and its new owner National Electric Vehicles Sweden (NEVS) were once again up against it with an unpaid supplier filing for bankruptcy. Since the, Saab has been thrown a lifeline by the Swedish courts, and a big kick in the teeth by Saab AB. NEVS right to use the Saab name (although not the Griffin logo) was granted by the owners – the defence firm Saab AB – but in light of NEVS financial predicament that right has been withdrawn. BMW boss tells the truth about electric cars. And then has to apologise for doing so.Sun, 01 May 2011BMW US CEO Jim O'Donnell - "EVs won't work for more than 90% of drivers" Really, you do have to ask what kind of barking mad world we live in when the boss of a car company is forced to apologise for telling the truth, simply because it upsets a vocal minority (and his bosses, no doubt) We’ve been banging on for years about how useless electric cars are as a replacement for the internal combustion engine, and how they are really only viable as inner-city runarounds and as toys for the better-off. Even then, electric cars have their problems. As inner-city cars EVs certainly do the local environment a favour by transferring emissions to the point of electricity generation instead of the point of use. Hyundai ix35 makes it to HarrodsTue, 08 Jun 2010The Hyundai ix35 makes it to a Harrods window display We’re not too sure whether we should take the news that the Hyundai ix35 will take pride of place in one of Harrods’ Brompton Road window displays is indicative of the progress Hyundai has made in the last couple of years, or it’s the new owners’ policy to show its visitors what the proletariat are driving these days. Whichever it is, there will be a top of the range Hyundai ix35 Premium in dazzling white strutting its stuff – well, sitting in the window anyway – in one of Harrods’ window displays for the whole of this week (w/b 7/6). This whole ‘Hyundai in Harrods’ is a bit of PR flim-flam to get some headlines and copy (see, it works) but it does show just how far Hyundai has come. 2040Parts.com © 2012-2024. All Rights Reserved.
