Teraflex #1145042

Elite LCG™ PreRunner Lift Kit with 4" Front and Rear Lift Height (1145042) by TeraFlex®. The PreRunner system is designed to minimize unnecessary rotational mass, and maximize complete wheel travel. The LCG PreRunner specifically focuses on the speed aspect of off road performance, and by keeping tire size to 35" the JK is able to quickly accelerate. Lift your Jeep. Lift it for several good reasons, all of which will make it more capable in off-road situations. Lift it to install larger diameter tires by making more room in the wheel wells. Lift it to improve ground clearance for climbing over stumps and rocks. And lift it for the appearance and the commanding driving position, even on the street.

Features:

  • Improved ground clearance
  • Allows larger-diameter tires to clear wheel wells
  • Allows Jeep to climb steeper hills
  • Lift the body on the frame
  • Lift the suspension higher over the axles

Off-roading in a Jeep is great fun. But don't expect an unmodified Jeep to go over every rock and tree stump you see. Don't expect it to be able to hillclimb in mud or slog through deep, loose sand. Don't expect it to make the length of Baja unscathed. The first thing you need is bigger tires. Those tires are too big to fit under the Jeep's already capacious wheel wells. The second thing you need is more ground clearance, to let your Jeep clear big logs and climp over rocky protuberances. Raising a Jeep is more complex than simply adding longer springs. Longer springs and longer shocks are where most lift kits start, but every additional inch means you have to modify other things, like the steering system, the drivetrain and even the wiring and brake lines. Lifting the body on the frame is good for another inch or two, but a serious lift will require a host of modifications.

TeraFlex has been professionally involved with Jeeps since the 1950s and that experience taught them how to make them perform their best. TeraFlex was started in the fall of 1996 to meet the needs of the growing market for heavy duty off road equipment and suspension enhancements. And they've maintained a dominant hold on the market since then. TeraFlex was the first aftermarket manufacturer with a suspension system for the TJ Wrangler, and is still the only aftermarket company to offer a solution for the venerable 231 transfer cases low range gearing. In 2001, the entire off road industry was stunned at the CRD60 - an off-road-specific high-pinion 60 differential that took innovation to a new level, reinforcing their position in the industry.

BMW 3 Series GT Spied

Fri, 25 Mar 2011

2012 BMW 3-Series GT caught being transported I can’t say we’ve really laid awake at night thinking about it, but the reveal of the BMW 3 Series GT must be getting close. As, for that matter, must the whole new 2012 BMW 3-Series. We first reported that BMW were making a 3-Series GT back in 2009, but we did know they wouldn’t be building one on the current platform, waiting instead for when the new 3-Series due to put in an appearance, probably at Frankfurt in the Autumn (if not before).
