SPECIAL BOOK:
This book is SIGNED BY THE AUTHOR, Chet Peek.

"The Cub." Perhaps the most famous name in American aviation history.

Instantly recognized by all flying enthusiasts, it represents that perky little monoplane that taught generations of our country's pilots to fly.

Built by the thousands both before and after World War II, these planes are still a common sight in America's skies.

Its ancestors are not as well known. Less familiar, indeed, almost forgotten, is the first Cub model, the Taylor E-2, built by C.G. Taylor, who would later go on to build more than 13,000 Taylorcraft Airplanes. (See The Taylorcraft Story, which tells of the Taylor/Piper split).

From its crude beginnings in 1930, the E-2 Cub went on to spawn over 12 thousand descendants, becoming one or the most widely produced planes in the world. Yet, while the " J-3 Cub and "Super Cub" are famous, the E-2 Cub remains largely unheralded in the annals of aviation history.

Because the Taylor E-2 Cub was the precursor of the entire Taylor-Piper family of lightplanes, it deserves its own historical recognition and treatment.

This book tells the Taylor E-2 Cub story.

Foreword to this book was written by C. G. Taylor’s son, Bob Taylor.

Softbound, 96 pages, 8.5”x11”, b&w photos, index, book is signed by the author.
