Porsche introduces the Cayenne GTS Design Edition 3 for £64,753. [ad#ad-1] Despite ‘The Economy’ and the general antipathy towards big SUVs, the Porsche Cayenne powers on and still sells in numbers that astonish those who don’t understand the car. The last model to be introduced (apart from the very limited Cayenne Transsyberia) was the GTS; a more road-focused version with a tweaked version of the normally aspirated 4.8 litre V8.

Koenigsegg are in the running to take over Saab Saab were given Swedish Government protection recently (similar to Chapter 11) to try and find a suitor or funding to operate independently. Of course they can’t do that completely, at least not in the short term, as they are so tied in to GM’s platforms on their current and soon to be released cars. But Saab has a strong – if quirky – history and, with the right backing, could stand alone as a niche maker of aesthetically individual cars.

Vehicles connect at Michigan International Speedway

The Michigan Department of Transportation and Michigan International Speedway have joined forces to help in the development of a connected-vehicle system. In the future, it will help cars communicate with each other on the road to avoid crashes and increase safety. The speedway, located in Brooklyn, Mich., will allow organizations such as the Connected Vehicle Proving Center and the Center for Automotive Research to use the track as a test road for the new technology.
