New Hyundai i30 (2012) previewed ahead of Frankfurt
Wed, 10 Aug 20112012 Hyundai i30 previewed ahead of Frankfurt It’s easy to think of the Hyundai i30 as part of the new wave of Euro-centric Hyundai’s. But it’s now four years old and starting to look like ‘Old’ Hyundai, so we’re to be treated to a new Hyundai i30 at Frankfurt – destined to launch in early 2012. That said, the new i30 is not going to be a radical departure from the current i30, which has been a decent success for Hyundai.
Focus RS plus – the Loder1899
Wed, 28 Oct 2009The Focus RS by Loder1899 We finally got round to doing a review of the Focus RS last week and came away deeply impressed. The thought of 300bhp through the front wheels seemed like a barking mad idea, but Ford had managed to pull off the seemingly impossible with the adoption of their clever RevoKnuckle system, which tames the torque steer if not completely eradicating it. We did note that it seemed as if the system was good enough to take even more horses than the RS produces, which you can now find out for yourself if you opt for the tuned Focus RS revealed by German tuner Loder1899 (catchy little name).
Kia goes (dark) green
Tue, 23 Sep 2008By Jesse Crosse Motor Industry 23 September 2008 11:00 Kia has unveiled a portfolio of new environmental technologies, including a 1.4-litre Ceed with stop-start (due in the UK in 2009), a Ceed hybrid and the latest version of its fuel cell-powered Sportage. The Korean manufacturer is investing heavily in research and development and will increase its spend on R&D from £2.2 billion this year to £2.6 billion by 2010, combined with a 40 percent increase in manpower at its research centres around the globe. The money is being spent on developing downsized, turbocharged engines, efficiency improvements to conventional engines such as friction reduction and the separation of accessories like water pumps from the engine.
