Citroen DS3 Launched

The Citroen DS3 launched at Frankfurt today Amazingly, the DS3 has stayed very close to the concept we saw at Geneva earlier this year. The shape has remained virtually unchanged, as has the interior and even the wheels. The DS3 gets a twin exhaust and a conventional ariel – about the only changes we can see from the concept.

Fiat CEO Sergio Marchionne's self-confidence has helped him tackle problems that lesser executives would duck, but he may have met his match. In a public test of Marchionne's faith in his own turnaround strategy, in September Volkswagen Chairman Ferdinand Piech bluntly announced that he wants to buy Alfa Romeo. Piech was suggesting that VW--and only VW--could transform Fiat's perennial money-losing brand into a real moneymaker.

You sense from the press material accompanying the Kia Niro, on show here at IAA, that Kia is just a tiny bit pleased with its latest concept. And to be fair, it has every reason to be. Just look at it - this thing is magnificent.
