After individual deliberation by our panel of renowned senior designers, students being tutored at colleges in a diverse range of countries including Israel, the Czech Republic, Australia, Taiwan, Canada and China, as well as in the established centres of Europe, the USA and Japan/Korea, have made the 68-strong shortlist of potential winners. Chris Bock tapped as new chief judge for Pebble Beach concours

It thrusts Mercedes right into the thick of the race for green supercars, jostling for attention with the forthcoming McLaren P1, Ferrari Enzo successor, Honda NSX, Porsche 918 and Jaguar C-X75. However, Merc has leapfrogged many of its competitors since the SLS AMG Coupe Electric Drive goes on sale in summer 2013 exactly as you see here.
