TOMEI Poncam Cams

Tomei's Poncam camshafts are designed as a "drop in application!", No dialing in required as the knock-pin has been pre-set so that the timing it set for you. No valve spring upgrades needed and this is the cheapest and best upgrade for street and track use. These will work on the OEM ECU settings and aftermarket ECU if you want more customized settings.

Type A:
In order to get stable idle and raise low-mid RPM torque, Tomei set the duration of Exhaust camshaft shorter. Best suited used with stock turbine or N1 turbine.

Type B:
By giving longer duration timing than Type A, it raises both response and peak power at the same time, even with mid-large sized turbine.

Type R:
The development of these camshafts began with advice from Mr. Hitoshi Maeda of Jing Techno Engineering. With stricter pollution laws in place these days, both genuine and sports catalytic converters are being used as well as silent type mufflers. This causes exhaust pressure to increase, which decreases engine response. Improvements in response and acceleration are accomplished with these camshafts that will satisfy any driver. This was made possible with many prototypes and extensive Research and Development in conjunction with Mr. Maeda.
