The ALL NEW TORC MAKO T14 Replaces the discontinued T10 and T12 The MAKO is the most recent addition to the TORC brand. The Mako is a type of shark. It is the fastest species of shark. It is recognized by its body lines. It is rounded with a pointed nose. It is because of these identifying traits that the MAKO T14 was aptly named. The MAKO replaces both the Prodigy and Blade shells. It is lighter weight than both previous models. It uses a dual density EPS system and it features laser contoured comfort liner padding. It is the only helmet in this price class to use an optically correct flat panel shield. It also uses TORC’s new locking drop down internal sun visor system called SmoothLock. We believe we have created the best helmet in this class, and we dare you to find a better helmet for the same price. The shell base profile is designed to incorporate from back to front with a neck brace.

Recall is last linked to fire hazard, Ford says
Wed, 14 Oct 2009Ford Motor Co.'s new recall of vehicles that pose potential fire hazards will be its last because the latest action covers all remaining cars and trucks with cruise-control switches made by Texas Instruments, even if those switches don't pose safety risks, a Ford spokesman said today. "We did this to reassure customers and make sure there will be no future actions connected to this," spokesman Wes Sherwood said in an interview. "We've gone to extra lengths to include both vehicles with risks and those that don't show risk." Yesterday, Ford announced a recall of 4.5 million vehicles--its eighth in the past decade involving cars and trucks with faulty cruise-control deactivation switches.
Pirelli World Challenge star Andy Pilgrim makes teens, parents better drivers
Wed, 26 Mar 2014Here's another addend in the complex driver-training equation: Many parents influence their kids to become both a greater danger when driving and more susceptible to the actions of other poor drivers. This influence begins long before kids are licensed to drive. Consider: -- “More than 75 percent of new drivers exhibit the same distracted driving behavior as their parents.” -- “Most parents are unaware they are teaching their kids things that will make them more dangerous to others and more vulnerable to others.” -- “Most parents want to protect their children and will make changes once they understand the realities of behavior transfer.” These are the words of Andy Pilgrim, the same championship-winning sports-car driver who helped road-test editor Jonathan Wong thrash Porsche's 911 GT3 and Chevrolet's Camaro Z/28.
