ATTENTION: converter “cores” are in short supply due to their age. Rebuilders are now charging significant core charges; prices will be rising on these high-stall converters due to scarcity. It takes two converters to produce the 19-spline 10-3/4” high-stall type, one 1962-66 11-3/4” core & one 1968+ 10-3/4” core. Price reflects that and extra time/labor to build the unique converter.

Chrysler factory converters were “furnace-brazed/sweat-brazed” as are most race converters, making the converter extremely durable & resistant to accumulation of debris internally !!

Fresh, rebuilt 10 ¾”  (WIDE ring gear) 727 HIGH-STALL, 19-spline torque converter; fits any 1962-1966 TF-727 with 19 spline input shaft. This is a “zero balance” unit; can be used with 440 (FORGED crank, without Six Pack rods ), 361-383-413-426 Wedge, 340 (FORGED crank), 318 (cast or forged crank), 273 engines & Slant 6 in 727 applications (only with LARGE converter pilot hole in crankshaft - 1.812” I.D.).

Stall speed aprox. 2900-3000 RPM with RB engines (413-426 Wedge & 440), 2600 RPM with B engines (361-383), 2400 RPM with 340, and 2100-2300 with 273 or 318. Same converter as the 426 HEMI except uses 5/16” NF flexplate bolts. REQUIRES correct SMALL diameter, offset converter lug pattern, V-8 flexplate (10” diameter bolt-circle or aprox. 7” between adjacent holes); we stock the flexplates. High-stall converters for other, EXTERNALLY-balanced engines also available, 24-spline or 19-spline: 360, 400 & 440 cast cranks, 440-6 Pack and 340 CAST crank. Chrysler converters are “furnace brazed” internally from the factory for extra strength (GM & Ford are not); excellent unit for street or occasional drag strip use. ‘Hydrogen Petrol’. Is this the answer?

Mon, 31 Jan 2011

Hydrogen Petrol - the Holy Grail Many accuse us of a Luddite attitude to new technologies aimed at replacing our reliance on oil and the internal combustion engine. But nothing could be further from the truth. We embrace new technology, but only if it brings improvement.

Thu, 09 Dec 2010

Rolls Royce Ghost LWB, DHC & Coupe planned I know, you’re not exactly shocked to learn that Rolls Royce are planning on producing not just a LWB Ghost but also a Ghost Drophead Coupe and a Ghost Coupe. After all, we told you that a year or more ago when the Rolls Royce Ghost officially launched. But Rolls Roye are now being a bit more forthcoming and are admitting publicly that “…the Ghost lends itself to new models.” Well I never.
