This parts kit allows use of a deep oil pan on the Torqueflite 727 (1962-1965) and 904 (1960-1965); to be used with oil pans having a minimum inside depth of 2-1/4” from pan rail to bottom (inside, directly under the filter). Allows use of the 1989 and later A518 (727) or A500 (904) overdrive transmission oil pans on the early 1960’s Torqueflites. Also usable with any deep pan having the minimum inside depth of 2-1/4”, measured from the oil pan rail to point of clearance under oil filter. Extension has second hole for rear pump operation; necessary with the 1960-1965 Torqueflite 727 & 904 as the governor is supplied with fluid from the rear pump and helps control the upshifts and downshifts (“kickdown” or “passing gear”). Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV big dealer push – first UK cars being delivered
Wed, 04 Jun 2014The Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV – moving quickly in the UK The Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV, the plug-in hybrid Outlander, has been the subject of a big marketing campaign by Mitsubishi in recent weeks, and this weekend sees a big dealer push to educate buyers. But actually, it’s a very easy job for Mitsubishi because they seem to have hit the ground running with a car that could see the beginning of the end of the BEV electric car market. That’s because the Outlander PHEV offers the best of both worlds, with its plug-in hybrid setup offering pure EV running for up to 30 miles or so – enough to get in and out of most cities – and the ability to run on carbon fuel even when the batteries run down.
EPA calls for lower-sulfur gasoline
Fri, 29 Mar 2013The EPA proposed a package of rules Friday that includes cleaner gasoline and stricter limits on pollution from the tailpipes of cars, despite objections from the oil industry. The rules, known as Tier 3, have been supported by car companies because they would bring U.S. standards into alignment with those of California, where gasoline must have a lower sulfur content to help reduce tailpipe emissions.
Alfa Romeo 4C finally on sale in 2013?
Mon, 29 Oct 2012It seems the Alfa Romeo 4C may finally arrive in production guise at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show, and on sale soon after. First seen at the Geneva Motor Show in 2011 – when we expected it to go on sale in 2012 – the 4C has been rolled out by Alfa Romeo a few times since – even complete with ‘teasers’ when all that had changed was the colour – to keep up interest in a car that holds much promise but didn’t seem to be heading anywhere. But now, according to Autocar, Alfa Romeo has confirmed that a production version of the Alfa 4C will arrive at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show before going on sale – at least in Europe – later in the year.
