Top Gear answers critics of Electric Car Test. Again.

Wed, 03 Aug 2011

Nissan LEAF runs out of electrickery in Lincoln on the Top Gear Test Top Gear and Electric Cars do have a habit of not getting on. And they didn’t get on in the latest Top Gear test when Jeremy (in a Nissan LEAF) and James (in a Peugeot iOn) set out to demonstrate the shortcomings of EVs, the same shortcomings we we bang on about constantly. Ariel Atom 3.5R police car joins UK Constabulary

Thu, 05 Jun 2014

We never pictured the Ariel Atom as a police car, but now that Ariel Motors has actually equipped one with all the appropriate police gear, it makes perfect sense. It's light, it's highly visible, it's relatively cheap to run on a daily basis and it's wickedly fast. Ariel Motors has teamed up with the Somerset Constabulary in the south of England to equip an Atom 3.5R, which features a 2.0-liter 350-hp engine from the Honda Civic Type R, with the necessary police gear.
