There were 154,562 new cars registered last month – a 7.6% rise over January 2013, continuing the run of buyer confidence that saw overall sales reach a six-year high last year. Saleen Performance has goosed the 2011 Mustang GT with a slew of enhancements to create the S302, including a shorter-throw six-speed manual, optional brake upgrades that measure 14 inches with six-piston calibers and a Racecraft suspension that lowers ride height by 1.5 inches. The exterior gets rockers, a scooped hood and front and rear fascia, which are complemented by a redone interior with piano-black finishings.
Crusade saves Brighton Speed Trials
Mon, 27 Jan 2014THE BRIGHTON Speed Trials, thought to be the longest-running motorsport event in the UK, has been saved following a crusade backed by thousands of people. Since 1905, the annual event has gained international acclaim for showcasing top-class cars and motorbikes racing over a quarter of a mile at Madeira Drive on Brighton's seafront. Organisers launched a campaign amid fears the event could be scrapped because Green-led Brighton and Hove City Council had not accepted an application to host it this year.
