Toyota Corolla Clutch Replacement

2003-2008

This is a 90-minute DVD (as in video) showing how to remove and install a clutch on a 2003 - 2008 Corolla.   With this DVD, you'll know exactly how to do this costly job yourself and save a TON of money.    (There are two YouTube links at the bottom of this page that show brief segments from the DVD.)

A clutch job at a shop runs about $1200.00

You don't need to be an expert mechanic to do this repair.  If you've done a number of car repairs and have some tools, you'll be able to save about $1000 with the know-how you'll get from this video.  I'll walk you through every step needed starting at the very beginning right through to the end.   I did this job for a friend and recorded and edited the entire process.  (It's self-produced so don't expect a production crew-type feature film from Hollywood)  The two clips at the bottom of the page are pretty much exactly what you'll see in the DVD.

DON'T pay a shop to do this job! (more like, don't finance a clutch job with a credit card cuz that never feels good and there are better things to do with your money).

Everything you need to know is on the DVD.  Some of the segments from the DVD are: Removing the axles, draining and filling the transmission, tie-rod ends, air intake removal, slave cylinder removal, floor shift cable transmission removal, lower cross brace removal, engine mounts removal, removing the tranny, replacing the: clutch disk, pivot fork, release bearing, pressure plate.  There are about 300 on-screen tips so you'll get plenty of advice throughout the DVD.

Most people are intimidated when thinking about a clutch job and they think it's WAY beyond their skill level.  That's only because they haven't seen how to break down the job into its numerous, smaller, and much easier repairs (not to mention, they can't visualize all that needs to be done - which this DVD solves).  It's not beyond most peoples' skill level.  After you've done a clutch, you've basically conquered one of the mountains in car repairs and there won't be much left to intimidate you.  And you don't need fancy, expensive tools (I don't even have impact wrenches).  You just need the time and will.

Several people have bought this DVD for help changing a clutch on 98' and newer models as well.   Apparently there's a small bracket somewhere in the older cars that's not on the one in this DVD.   If you're wondering about an older model this is what I tell people:   with the massive amount of information on the video, you'll have all the knowledge you need to tackle the job despite the slight differences between the years.  The biggest differences between the years are mostly found on the components under the hood (air cleaner housing, grounds, etc.) and have nothing to do with the engine mounts, tranny mounts, support bracket.   The big stuff is the same, the small stuff won't be a problem.

Here are two YouTube links.  They're of shortened, sometimes sped-up segments from the DVD with me doing a voice-over (unlike the DVD which has no voice-overs).

Suzuki Swift Sport (2011) first official picture

Wed, 10 Aug 2011

This is the new Suzuki Swift Sport, a lovely little hot (well, warm) hatch that will be officially revealed at the 2011 Frankfurt motor show in September. And you can forget about the current crop of turbocharged and big power-chasing hot hatches – this Swift Sport uses a naturally aspirated engine good for just 134bhp… 134bhp! I know the last Suzuki Swift Sport wasn’t big on power but Minis and VXR Corsas boast over 200bhp… Yes, but that’s not the point.

Rolls-Royce Phantom Drophead Coupe

Tue, 09 Jan 2007

By Ben Oliver Motor Shows 09 January 2007 05:53 Drophead Coupe makes waves in Detroit CAR Online brought you the first pictures of the new open-top Phantom and exclusive video footage last month, but this £260,000 monster still stole the Detroit show when Rolls-Royce chairman Ian Robertson officially unveiled it in what will be by far its biggest market. The 100EX concept on which the production car is based stole the 2004 Geneva show too, and features which we all thought would only be seen on the concept, such as the teak ‘decking’ on the hood cover and the rear-hinged suicide doors, have made it to the finished car. Production starts at Goodwood this summer.
