Concept Car of the Week: Mazda Taiki (2007)

Mazda had been doing fantastically well with its concepts since the end of 2006, and its offering for the 2007 Tokyo motor show didn't buck the trend. The fourth in the 'Nagare' series that explored the idea of 'Flow, it lined up on the Mazda stand with its older brothers for the first time, and was understandably a most impressive display and one of the highlights of this show. Jaguar F-Type Paris Motor Show debut: Official

We already knew that the new Jaguar F-Type would get its production debut at the 2012 Paris Motor Show, but now it’s official. Jaguar has mastered the ‘launch’ of a new car in the digital age, with endless teaser photos and videos, trickles of information, official ‘Spy’ photos and tempting new little revelations at appropriate intervals. And that process has been exactly the path the arrival of the new Jaguar F-Type has followed, from the F-Type Coupe as the C-X16 Concept through to the camouflaged F-Type Roadsters we’ve seen on film, on video and in the flesh.

Volvo's Mean Green semi breaks records in Utah

The Volvo hybrid truck, a.k.a. Mean Green, achieved two world speed records at Wendover Airfield in Utah, one for the standing kilometer and one for the flying kilometer. It didn't hit its planned top velocity of 165 mph, but 147 mph is still a respectable speed for a truck originally meant for hauling trailers down a highway.
