The two premium brands reckon working together might just stave off the threat of the credit crunch, collapsing car sales in key markets and the uncertainty wobbling the very foundations of the motor industry. But the BMW-Merc collaboration is proving difficult, according to executives in Germany contacted by CAR.

UK motorway to charge moving electric cars

The Highways Agency is set to test wireless charging in moving electric cars on a UK motorway, according to Engineering and Technology Magazine. This would see electric vehicles gain additional charge as they passed over wireless charging nodes embedded in the motorway’s road surface. A GROUP of Commonwealth Games athletes took on a road race with a difference by going for a ride down one of Scotland's busiest stretches of motorway. The four members of the Sri Lankan team sparked a police response after they were spotted cycling down the M74. British triathlete Jonny Brownlee was among those amazed to see the intrepid cyclists riding alongside traffic this morning.
