Thu, 25 Mar 2010The 2011 Bentley Continental GT The Bentley Continental GT – complete with its awesome W12 engine – has been with us for seven years and has managed to cement a reputation as a hugely capable car – if a little tainted by the ‘WAG’ paintbrush. But get past the footballers car label and the Continental GT – particularly the GT Speed – is a very desirable ‘VW’ Bentley. But however good the Contis are, things move on and even Bentleys have to change.

Tue, 25 May 2010Maserati Merak - by Giugiaro Perhaps it makes sense politically for an Italian company to takeover another, but the outcome is the same – VW has taken a majority stake in Italdesign Giugiaro – 90.1% – through its Italian subsidiary Lamborghini Holdings S.p.A. Just as we expected. And there’s a lot of sense in this move by VW – even if they are going back on their stated intent to end the acquisitions – as there’s a strong history with Giugiaro.
