Chevy Volt to get 230-mpg rating for city fuel economy, General Motors says

General Motors expects that the Chevy Volt will get an EPA city fuel-economy rating of 230 mpg, and a combined fuel economy rating of triple digits, CEO Fritz Henderson said Tuesday. The ratings will be based on a new test that the EPA is developing for plug-in electric hybrids. The highway and combined figures were not announced.

Porsche has rejected the BlueSport concept as a new entry-level Porsche The VW BlueSport concept debuted at the Detroit Motor Show in January, and offered the prospect of an economical, fun roadster from the VW group. Shelby American adds SCCA-ready version to the GT350 Mustang mix

Enthusiasts who want to take the new GT350 Mustang racing in Sports Car Club of America events are getting some help from Shelby American. The Las Vegas-based company, which upfits the 2011 Ford Mustang GT to create the GT350 Mustang, will add a normally aspirated version to the lineup. When Shelby American first announced the GT350 program in January, it centered on a supercharged version of Ford's new 5.0-liter V8 that would make about 500 hp.
