It looks like this was removed for an upgrade, but I don't know any more about it, or if it even works. When I bought it at a thrift shop, it was in the box of a high-end replacement unit. I have no means or inclination of testing it. Do NOT buy it if you have any concerns whatsoever or can't afford to lose ten bucks, and do NOT leave negative feedback. I'm not trying to stick anyone, or trying to dump a bad unit; I just don't know. Absolutely no returns, and no snivelling. On the upside, you've got much, much better odds on this than a lottery ticket. I only charge actual shipping, to boot.

But at the very least, the former telecom honcho who's now the leader of the nation's largest automaker does like cars. “Oh yes,” he answered in response to that question during a Web chat on Tuesday, one of his first interactions with the media so far in his tenure at the helm of GM.

A tribute to Jim Das

Sat, 21 May 2005

On May 15 GM Europe designer Jim Das passed away in a Wiesbaden hospital after a year-long battle with leukemia. Jim joined the Opel Design team in 1997 following the completion of his Masters degree at the Royal College of Art. In 1998-99 Jim had a stint in Italy at the Opel Advanced Studio and worked on a roadster study (currently on display at Opel Live in Ruesselsheim).
