Geneva auto show: Mazdaspeed 3 set for debut

Hot on the heels of the recently introduced 2010 Mazda 3, the guys from Hiroshima are planning to show the performance-focused Mazdaspeed 2 version at the Geneva motor show in March. Details remain scarce, but the company has announced that the 2.3-liter direct-injection turbocharged four-cylinder will continue to power the range-topping model. No performance numbers were released.

The all-new Porsche Macan is likely to become the brand's best-selling model. The compact SUV is a rival for cars such as the Audi Q5, BMW X3 and Range Rover Evoque and MSN Cars got behind the wheel to test the Macan's abilities on the road, off-road and on a test track. The Macan is Porsche's second SUV - it's a baby brother to the larger Cayenne and goes on sale in April, with prices starting from £43,300.

BMW readying first M Performance model for U.S.

BMW will introduce the first in what will become a line of M Performance models to North America in early 2014 with the M235i coupe. It will take the place of the 1-series M coupe which recently ceased production after a run of more than 6,000 units, some 600 of which were sold in the United States. BMW is renaming the coupe and convertible versions of the 1-series as the 2-series for the vehicle's second generation.
